Your comments about Greed, Trust and not taking a penny, are about you. This discussion is aboutRead Moret hose on the other side of the coin. Ask Leland Yee. A Few control the lives of Many. Now get out there and run for Office. As noted Curt and Bob are headed for the Door.
Well, I am an optimist and hope that in the least, with the "uproar" of the people in the Read Morelast election, the local politicians will keep themselves in check 'cause they know there is more scrutiny now than before. Re: the handle, lol... you mean THAT handle. There are a lot of handles.. .love handle, broom handle, etc! I can't run for office due to health/cancer, and never want to be in office anyway... You give up too much privacy and time with family. When the city gives you a cell phone, it's a ball and chain AND.. you have to behave all the time and can't mouth off like this.. lol...

Well W.W. something we can agree on. These putrid excuses for human beings are an insult to theRead Morecomm unity. We have enough crime why elect more criminals? It's the ONLY reason people would consider running for office, to expand their crime syndicate.

I wrote in Dino. You know write-ins never win. Only the crooks win. Keep your eye on theRead Morewinne rs. Pacheco, Su. When they screw up, send them to jail. Always keep your second ammendment rights. Grass roots wishes of the people are being infringed and are being stamped out. Just be aware that this is happening. King bailed. Smart man. Most of us should bail. Get out of Walnut. Nothing for us here unless it pleases the POWERS THAT BE. Rediflex. COI, Fines for stupidity (fines for not being PC). High School theft of property tax funds. Aquatic Center (Who the F needs an Aquatic center!). What is the point of the Chinese American Parent Association??? Do Chinese really need help? Aren't you really the American American Parent Association?? Gotta go. Gotta watch Obama ignore congress and rape the US Constitution again and again and again.

I've encountered this many times at that station and complained to employees. Once was approachedRead Moreb y a clean cut young guy in CVS for bus money to get home. Note also that when you go thru the drive thru window for prescriptions, the only way out is thru the back where you can encounter their "nests" inside the refuse enclosures. The second problem area is at the corner of amar and Azuza. I know it's out of the area but I mention it only because of the pattern of begging. Women and children are pimped out while the man lurks about the outskirts of parking lot. Give to a soup kitchen/shelter.
Ray Russell April 08, 2014 at 11:59 AM
Those people are there to make money. And they only do this because they probably make more in aRead Moreday than the people that think they are helping a poor person with a handout! Most, if given a chance at a real job, would refuse it! After all why should they take a pay cut?
LAK April 08, 2014 at 12:02 PM
My compassion has diminished due to a few incidents over the past couple of years - Long BeachRead Moresenio r citizen set on fire for declining a "donation" request, seeing a woman walking through a parking lot talking on a smart phone then proceeds to beg in front of the post office, the fake baby funeral scam (seen that twice in one day). A guy walking around a parking lot with a gas can looking for gas money. I gave him $7 only to be approached again after coming back out of the store. I'm with finchss and cutting a check to a local shelter today.

MIchael, you are a tool. Mr Pacheco is not a liar. You are unacceptable of putting to 2 coherentRead Mores entences together therefor you have to cite LA Times articles for 2003. What have you done to help this city? I hope Dino continues his efforts to make a change. Unfortunately his campaign started a too late. As for the other candidates, I am sure the questionable antics of the Tang campaign will be under investigation and the war chest that Su campaign gathered will be investigated as well.

The red light camera has always been a continuous discussion ever since they were inducted. I wasRead Moreal most involved in a couple of rear-end accidents because the drivers in front would abruptly stop or they will constantly break to not run a yellow. This intersection probably has the most accidents in this city. There has been multiple researching done by citizens where this camera actually CAUSES more rather than PREVENT more accidents. There is a blog on this site that talks about the intersection recently. You should get in touch with residents if you plan on making a run for city council. As of now, there is not one candidate that suits the city in my opinion. Mary Su claims that she was a part that made Walnut one of the safest cities in the nation. BS, it's the residents that made the city, not one council member. To me, this lady has an hidden agenda. Pacheco has too many ties to politicians and Tang will be a puppet controlled by Judy Chu. I don't know who you are Dino. I think we as residents need to know what you will do for the city and what your views are and who you are going to stand with: the residents of the city or the filthy, scandalous politicians?
TheCandidateSpeaks April 03, 2014 at 04:08 AM
Ken, I did see that article on the red-light cameras today. It seems like Covina is still moving Read Moreforward. They are making a lot of money from tickets. It is a lot more than I would have expected. The sheriff station did not have any statistics but gave me a contact at city hall. I will be there in the morning as I have a meeting scheduled with the city manager on some other items. Cheers, Dino
TheCandidateSpeaks April 03, 2014 at 04:36 AM
Shazaam, I would like to thank the other candidates for stepping forward to try to represent ourRead Morecit y. That said, I was not satisfied to choose from only three candidates for two positions. I decided to run as a write-in candidate to provide the people with more choice. In this process, I have found that the people of Walnut are crying out for a candidate to represent them. I am that candidate. I am the only candidate in this race who is self financed. I seek no endorsements other than the endorsement of the people of Walnut. If elected, decisions will thus be made in the best interest of this city and its residents. I will be at the the meet and greet this Saturday. I hope to see you there to discuss making Walnut even better. Cheers, Dino

American Patriot, keep pretending. You do not love your neighbor. You do not care about anythingRead Moreb ut your religious agenda. Force your religion into other people's homes by blasting your noise. Your religion tells others if is their way or the highway. What about the Pope that looked the other way as Hitler killed millions? What about the child molesting priests? What about the sins of your church? What about the attitude, it's o.k. to sin because God will forgive me? What about the evil that comes out the door of your church? What about all those hypocrites? You need to be honest. But I know how hard that is for anyone that attends your church. Keep pretending. We all know what kind of people you really are.

WW, once again why don't you come out in the open? I call it like it is. Your behavior isRead Morecowardly . Your statements fly about indiscriminately without proof or even specific citation. There was an investigation at the Tang office, based on some undisclosed complainant, that turned up no wrongdoing. You behave like a playground bully who runs to his mother's skirts when his nose gets punched. Your allegations are foolish and not to be taken seriously. Why don't you meet me mano e mano and we can trade facts. Bring along your articles and other sources to back up your accusations and we can discuss it like intelligent people. Otherwise, you are in no position to judge the value of my statements and you leave yourself open to criticism. I'm waiting.

The theft of the signs was documented by the Sheriff in a report. But they will not share theRead Moreinf o with the Tang Gang until or when a case is filed. Wrongdoing WAS found and the stolen evidence was recovered by the Sheriff behind the Tang office.. Tang's daughters' car was identified as the suspect's vehicle. Or contact the Public Integrity Division Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office 320 West Temple St., Rm. 766 Los Angeles, CA. 90012 Phone: (213) 974-6501 Ask them if they had an investigation of Chua. The three mailers this week were disgusting. That shows a lack of integrity and desperation on the part of the candidate. Your curiosity of who I am is matched only by the circle of people in the office of the Tang Gang who are trying to do so. Once again you call names, and try to find out who I am. That shows you are not interested in finding out the truth but only protecting your candidate. Sort of like the Obama supporters who don't realize Obama is making the poor poorer and the nation weaker.

Walnut is still sleeping. Next election is a short 2 years away. Dino 2016!
joebanana March 19, 2014 at 02:01 PM
How? Why? Electrical distribution systems are double banked. Meaning, two separate identicalRead Moresub-sta tions in one. During normal operation, both banks are energized, during scheduled outages, they're "single banked" meaning, one bank is isolated from the other through a "tie breaker",and is de-energized, and ground bonded for repair or maintenance. That's why transmission lines always come in groups of six. A complete outage means someone screwed up. I used to work in power distribution, and sub-station maintenance, so I've got a pretty good working knowledge of their operation. The proof being, I'm still here after 10 years of being within feet of live 35kv equipment.
Vito Spago March 19, 2014 at 05:41 PM
You sound like you know what you are doing My feeling exactly. Edison is taking the cheap wayRead Moreou t and making us ratepayers sit in the dark while they do a cheapo repair. As it happened, they skipped the blackout. Seems they cancelled the blackout on the 19th and picked another day. (Likely found they had ordered the wrong part!). We still got a 10 min unplanned blackout on the 18th! Oh joy.
joebanana March 19, 2014 at 01:47 PM
Making crimes out of non crimes seems to be a priority with our tyrannical form of government. NoRead Morevi ctim, no crime, No harm, no crime. In order for a "crime" to be valid, it requires a victim who's been harmed. Stupidity is not a crime. If the plane crashes because of shining a light on it, that may be a crime. Notice the "fine" amounts, who profits from stupid laws?
