Celebrate National Ice Cream Month with Some Healthy Recipes for Seniors

July is National Ice Cream Month, as christened by Ronald Reagan in 1984. Ice Cream is a treat made for all, but many of the modern concoctions that popular ice cream parlors are coming out with are loaded with sugar, so we’re here to share a healthy recipe that the whole family (caregivers included) can enjoy!

Instructions:

Peel the bananas and cut them up into 1 inch pieces. Put them in an air tight container and leave them in the freezer overnight. Once they are frozen, you can take them out and mash them with your hands or a spoon. Next, put them in a blender and blend until it becomes as smooth or as creamy as ice cream. Serve in a bowel and enjoy!

Not only is this a fun activity for the family, especially with children and senior relatives, it’s also a healthy treat!
