Chapparal Middle School Science Teacher Larry Rodgers Named "Teacher of the Year"

Larry Rodgers, science teacher at Chapparal Middle School, Diamond Bar has been awarded the "Teacher of the Year" Award by the Los Angeles Basin Geologic Society. This annual, monetary award is offered to outstanding earth science teachers who offer their students exemplary opportunities and insight into the earth sciences. By winning this, Larry will be automatically nominated for a higher award for "Teacher of the Year" offered by the Pacific Section American Association of Petroleum Geologists, next year. The Los Angeles Geologic Society ("LABGS" see www.labgs.org for more info) is a non-profit organization of geologists; students and professionals, which holds monthly lunch meetings / talks at The Grand in Long Beach on the third Thursday of each month.
