Taekwondo National Champions from Diamond Bar!

The 2014 US Taekwondo Nationals was held from 7/1-/7/7 in San Jose and we had athletes from Diamond Bar hanging with the best in the Nation!  They have been training real hard and I just wanted to give them some recognition.  We were able to bring home a total of 8 Medals and 3 National Champions!

Phillip Yun:  Won the Heavyweight Division, he qualifies to try out for the US National Team and his goal is the Olympics in Rio.

Karyn Real (Chaparral Middle School):  She won the 12-14 Black Belt Division earning a spot on the USA Forms team which will compete in Mexico later this year.  She placed 1st out of 80 other competitors!

Brandon Ma (Lorbeer Middle School):  He won the Red Belt Forms division.  Placing 1st out of 65 competitors.

Ryan Real (Quail Summit):  He won the Black  Belt Fin weight division going undefeated in his 5 fights.  He also placed 3rd out of 63 competitors in the Forms division.

Other students who qualified and competed were Brian Shi, Ethan Chen, Michael Chang, Joseph Real, Noah Chan, Zachary Villanueva, Bryan Chang, and Nathan Chan.

The students all train under the former USA Olympic Head Coach, Grandmaster Young In Cheon at YIC Taekwondo.  We are always looking to grow our team, if anyone is interested come stop by :)
