Walnut's Blue Thunder Band and Color Guard Win Top Awards at San Dimas High School Field Show Competition

Walnut High School Blue Thunder Band and Color Guard won 3 top awards at the San Dimas Field Show Competition held this past Saturday. Twenty-six high schools from throughout the region participated in the daylong field show held at the San Dimas High School Stadium.

The 200 member band/color guard performed to music from The Lion King and received the top award for best overall band, and 2 special awards for Visual and for Music.
The Band Directors are Dr. Buddy Clements and Corey Wicks; the Color Guard Advisor is Reva Collier and the Color Guard Coach is Krystal Hamlin.
Everyone involved - teachers, coaches, students and parents - have worked hard since August to put this field show together. It is truly a team effort. Congratulations Walnut High School Blue Thunder Band and Color Guard!
This was the fourth and final field show that Walnut has participated in. Walnut will now compete at State Championships this Saturday at Heritage High School. We wish them our best wishes and good luck at championships!
