2006 Diamond Bar Graduate, Police Officer Thomas Chamberlin Dies In Off Duty Accident

On June 10, 2014, at approximately 8:25PM, Fontana Police Department Officer Thomas Chamberlin was killed in an off-duty street motorcycle accident.  The accident occurred on Highway 39 in the Angeles National Forrest area, north of Azusa.  Officer Chamberlin was 26 years-old, unmarried and had no children.  He is survived by his parents Tom and Guadalupe. 

Officer Chamberlin is a 2006 graduate of Diamond Bar High School and joined the United States Marine Corps the same year.  He served in Iraq from 2008-2009 and also in Afghanistan in 2010.  He was honorably discharged in 2011.  He attended California State University at Fullerton before being hired by the Fontana Police Department in June of 2013. He graduated in December 2013 from the San Bernardino County Sherriff’s Department Police Academy, Class #191. 

 The accident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol, Baldwin Park Station. Officer Chamberlin made it known prior to the accident that he requests donations be made to the Catholic Answers Charity, San Diego, in lieu of flowers.
