In 2011, the inception of the Mayor's Cup trophy came to fruition and the inaugural game took place between the Diamond Ranch Panthers and Diamond Bar Brahmas. At the end of the game, Mayor Steve Tye, then Mayor of Diamond Bar, presented the trophy to Panthers' Head Coach Roddy Layton and his team. Ever since that first Mayor's Cup game, Diamond Ranch has kept the trophy on their campus.
