Monster Trucks to Tear Up the Grandstand

The LA County Fair runs through Sept. 29.

The following LA County Fair highlights are provided by the Pomona Fairplex.

The L.A. County Fair is celebrating its 91st anniversary with one big party. Here’s a list of programs and deals for Friday, Sept. 27. More information can be found at www.lacountyfair.com.

-$5 after 5: Signature food & beverage items only $5 after 5 p.m. Visit website for more information.

-Food Drive Fridays: Guests receive free Fair admission in exchange for five canned products on Fridays. Free admission good that day only, noon- 6 p.m. The canned products will be donated to Los Angeles Regional Food Bank with a portion going to the honored community of the day for distribution to their charity.

- Season Pass: presented by Walgreens, $24.99 for ages 6 and older at participating Walgreens

- Ralphs Any-Day Tickets: admission tickets $10 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12, comes with exclusive unlimited carnival ride wristband ($35). Restrictions apply. Presented by Ralphs.

-Cardenas Any-Day Tickets: admission tickets $10 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12. Available at all participating Cardenas Markets.

- Costco Savings Pack: $54.99 for 4 any-day tickets, one parking pass and 44 carnival ride/game tickets. At participating Costco store.

- Children 5 and younger are free every day.

Today’s Top Things To Do:

Monster Truck Madness: They're big, they're loud and they're really popular. Join in the fun when the monster trucks tear it up in the Grandstand. Scheduled to perform some serious dirt remodeling, spinning and jumping are the big boys Bounty Hunter, Iron Outlaw, Detour, Backwards Rick, Time Fly's, Obsessed and Playing for Keeps or Shocker. A limited number of free general admission tickets will be available beginning at 3 p.m. at the ticket kiosk on Rose Lane. Reserved seats are available at ticketmaster.com and the Fair box office. 7:30 p.m.

Community Day: Celebrate the cities of Azusa, Covina, Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario and their Community Heroes during the parade at 5 p.m. and at the Community Heroes ceremony at 5:30 p.m. The ceremony is held at Esmeralda’s Big Top Theatre.

Square Foot Gardening: Find you green thumb in the Flower & Garden building where you can learn how to decorate your home with latest floral trends. Flower & Garden Pavilion, 6 p.m.

Led Zeppagain: Led Zepagain takes their audience to a place that not only replicates a Led Zeppelin concert, but captures the heart and soul of the world’s greatest band. They will be playing on the Coca Cola Stage at 7, 8:30, 10 and 11:30 p.m. Schedule subject to change.

Art Treasures from the Attic: Daily. The Millard Sheets Center for the Arts presents “Art Treasures from the Attic,” an array of creations taken from the basements, attics and storage spaces of talented local artists.

Black Smith Show: Just follow the anvil-ringing sound to watch, visit and learn about this unique art form.  Our expert Alex will explain how tools were forged in the 1800’s and will tell you about the life and art of blacksmithing. Heritage Farm & Mission, 8:30 p.m.

Star Trek: The Exhibition: Daily. Visit the Star Trek exhibit and see original sets, costumes and props from every television series and film from the beloved franchise.

Live Shark Encounter: Daily. Watch our diver plunge into the tank and swim with the sharks. Located at Beneath the Sea: An Underwater Adventure.
