Outage Darkens Part of Diamond Bar

Palm frond identified as the culprit of the outage.

Hundreds of customers lost power in Diamond Bar early this morning, but the juice was flowing soon after.

Nearly 700 customers were without electricity after a palm frond fell onto power lines, causing a transformer to blow, according to an official at Southern California Edison. The outage was reported at 7:37 a.m. Power was quickly restored by 8:18 a.m.

The boundaries of the outage were Pomona Blvd. to the north, Golden Springs Drive to the south, Del Sol Lane to the east and Interstate 57 freeway to the west.
