Walnut and Diamond Bar Ranked Among 50 Safest Cities by Security Experts

SafeWise, a home security website released its list of "50 Safest Cities in California" this week.

Walnut and Diamond Bar were recently named to a list of the safest cities in California by SafeWise, a home security website that released its list of "50 Safest Cities in California."

According to officials, SafeWise compiled the report using the most recent FBI crime data and other ranking factors like "unique safety initiatives and security programs implemented within the past few years."

Walnut is ranked No. 17 on the list, lauded for it's parks and open space, family events, and low level of violent crime.

"There’s little doubt that Walnut’s 90 acres of park and open space, as well as its commitment to community programming, are two reasons why it was recently recognized by “Money Magazine” as the 49th best small town in the country to live in," Safewise wrote of the city. "The prosperous city also made the list in 2009 and 2011."

Diamond Bar is listed at No. 31, with the publication highlighting the city's recreational programs and community activities.

"An affluent city located in eastern Los Angeles County, Diamond Bar ensures its citizens have a wealth of things to do, and a safe community to do them in," Safewise wrote in the report.
