Diamond Bar Celebrates its Birthday

Hundreds filled Pantera Park in Diamond Bar to celebrate in a city-sponsored, carnival-like party.

Saturday was sunny and breezy and a perfect day for Diamond Bar’s 23rd Birthday.

The event, postponed from its original April date due to rain, went off without a hitch as thousands descended on Pantera Park to enjoy a car show, business expo and carnival held in honor of the big day. A number of local volunteers were also recognized.

“This is a city that has a lot to be proud of,” Congressman Ed Royce (R-Orange) told the crowd during the ceremony honoring the volunteers. “You have a new City Hall, a new library, a new dog park, and now we’ve got to work on fixing that 57 Freeway.”

A review of the event will be given to city officials in the coming days. Hundreds rode carnival rides and enjoyed food vendors along with the expo and show cars during the day.
