Gourmet Food Trucks Ready to Roll Into Town

Gourmet food truck fans will have the chance to indulge on Saturday now that six popular gourmet food trucks confirmed they would participate in a fundraiser to benefit the Diamond Bar Community Foundation and Lorbeer Middle School’s PTSO. 

The fundraiser is scheduled from 4 – 8 p.m. Saturday in the front parking lot at Lorbeer Middle School, 501 Diamond Bar Boulevard in Diamond Bar.

Among the food trucks preparing to roll in are the Slummin’ Gourmet, Jogasaki Sushi Burrito Truck, and local favorites Truck Norris, Rebel Bite, Bacon Mania, and Paradise Cookies, that will be bake fresh cookies for homemade ice cream sandwiches.

The event will also feature face painting and music for a fun, family evening.

The participating trucks said they would donate a portion of sales. The money will benefit Lorbeer Middle School’s PTSO and the Diamond Bar Community Foundation’s Sports Fields for Kids program which serves about 6,000 youth involved in sports in Diamond Bar, organizers said.

“The city does not have enough sports fields for them to play and practice,” said Lew Herndon, chairperson for the Fields for Kids Committee. “We are looking forward to raising needed funds and make to community aware of this decades old situation. The Food Truck Fundraiser is an important part of the process.”

Admission is a $2 donation for adults, $1 for students. Children under 5 years old are admitted free. No outside food or beverages and no pets will be allowed.
