South Pointe Music Fundraiser Features World-Class Musicians

The annual Music at the Pointe fundraiser comes on the heels of the South Pointe Wind Ensembles trip to New York, where they played Carnegie Hall.

You can't get into Carnegie Hall for $12, but you can see performing Arts students, which is just as good.

Just last weekend, the school's 101-member Wind Ensemble performed at Carnegie Hall for the Field Studies and Heritage Festivals' Elite Performance Series. On May 7, the school's Performing Arts Boosters will hold its annual fundraiser featuring many of those same musicians.

The event, called Music at the Pointe, is a day-long outdoor music festival featuring jazz bands and ensembles from South Pointe and students from Diamond Bar High School and Walnut High School as well.

There will also be food, a silent auction, and carnival attractions including bounce houses, a dunk tank, obstacle course, and face painting.

The day will feature outdoor activities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. before moving inside for a dinner, magic show, and concert from 5 - 8 p.m.
