Small Business Saturday returns for the third year. The event is seen as a way to invigorate the local economy and give local business owners a chance to thrive.

Sandwiched between the traditional Black Friday and Cyber Monday is Small Business Saturday an up and coming holiday that encourages residents to spend their dollars in locally owned businesses.

American Express promotes the event as a way to invigorate the local economy and give local business owners a chance to thrive.

Small Business Saturday, began in 2010 as a way for American Express to help small businesses get more exposure during one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year, according to the Small Business Saturday website. So far more several hundred small businesses in Diamond Bar and Walnut have signed up to participate.

All kinds of businesses, from local dentists, restaurants and small shops are included in the list. This provides people a chance to be creative with their gifts.

Before heading out to the keep in mind that some of the listings may out of date and some businesses may be closed.
