This Just in: We're Merging Diamond Bar and Walnut Patch!

Patch is merging the sites in an effort to strengthen coverage.

Notice anything different? Yes, indeed, we have merged! As of today, Diamond Bar and Walnut-Industry Patch are one.

The move is intended to strengthen our coverage of the three communities. Based on the ways we’ve seen you, our faithful readers and advertisers, use the sites, it was just good common sense to combine them.

The cities share so much including a school district, Walnut Valley Unified School District, and law-enforcement office, in the Diamond Bar/Walnut Sheriff’s station.

Now, instead of asking you to check two sites for the news and information you need from Diamond Bar and Walnut-Industry, you’ll have it all in one place: right here on Diamond Bar-Walnut Patch!

And you’re not losing a Local Editor, you are gaining a second editor in Melanie Johnson. Melanie officially assumes the helm of the site but will work side-by-side with current editor Gina Tenorio who remains as co-editor of the site.

We know...change can be difficult. But we hope you’ll give us a chance to show you that we’ll still be offering the same robust coverage of everything happening in Walnut, Industry and Diamond Bar. In fact, this is meant to help us provide better coverage of the things that matter to residents of both communities - which is something we’re always striving to do!

As always, let us know what you think.

This sounds like a good idea that makes a lot of sense. I am just happy that both editors will still be involved, because I already know that Melanie does a GREAT JOB. Thanks, Melanie for all your dedication and great coverage of our community!

Melanie, you do a fantastic job covering local issues, I think everyone agrees on that. One thing you missed about Walnut & Diamond Bar similarities; both City Councils are controlled by the City of Industry and treated like colonies- one more reason to cover them together!

This sounds like a great idea. I'm curious, which "three"? "The move is intended to strengthen our coverage of the three communities."

Thank you all for the kind words. I try my best. Hi Scott. That would be Walnut, Diamond Bar, and the City of Industry.

Michael W. hit the nail on the head! All cities that City of Industry cuts through are at their mercy! Trains, traffic, environment, etc etc Congrats Melanie,, you do a great job! Just wish whomever would change the format to what it was before. I don't click on so often anymore because of the change.
