Veterans to Ski Free Today at Local Resorts

Mountain High and Bear Mountain are among those offering free skiing.

Mountain High ski resort opened Sunday, thanks to a little natural snow and a blast of cold air, and veterans will get to ski free on today.

The Wrightwood resort is traditionally the first to open. Mount Baldy and Bear Mountain are expected to open today.

Veterans will get to ski free at Mountain High and Bear Mountain. Active duty and retired military personnel are required to show their military ID. Veterans without military ID can show a DD-214 discharge form and a photo I.D., or display a service ribbon on their left jacket collar.
