Yamaha Music School Returns to Diamond Bar

The Diamond Bar Yamaha Music School opened its doors back in Diamond Bar on March 20 in a space that founder Esther Kho said will provide more space for the school's over 400 students.

The held a grand opening ceremony at a new Diamond Bar location on March 20.

The school that was started in Rowland Heights nearly 25 years ago was most recently located in Walnut before moving back to Diamond Bar.

Mayor Steve Tye and the manager of the Yamaha Music Education System, Mike Morrell were on hand at the ceremony to welcome the music school to its new home in the Golden Springs Plaza at the south end of the city.

Esther Kho, who founded the school in 1982 with just 30 students, said that the new facility will offer larger classrooms and a new recital stage for the school's 400 students and 25 teachers.

Kho said the school hopes to give students an appreciation of music that allows for it to be "a natural, constant part of their lives."
