NAIOP Golf Tournament Raises 10K for Warrior Foundation

On May 1, nearly 150 regional real estate professionals teed off at NAIOP Inland Empire’s annual golf tournament to raise money for Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a national nonprofit that provides scholarships and educational counseling to surviving children of fallen special operations personnel. The event this year raised another $10,000 for the foundation, which raised the chapter’s total contribution to $30,000 since 2012.

“NAIOP Inland Empire is a proud supporter of the United States armed forces and giving the sons and daughters of our service men and women more access to secondary education and professional development,” said NAIOP Inland Empire President Stephen Batcheller, a partner with Panattoni Development Company. “Special Operations Warrior Foundation gives us a chance to serve both those causes, and we look forward to the golf tournament every year to show our support.”

Founded in 1980, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation has provided financial aid and counseling to children of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country’s freedom, giving them the opportunity to obtain a college education with the support needed to start and complete the process with one less parent. The foundation also offers immediate financial assistance to families of special operations personnel who are severely wounded by providing grants to cover traveling costs so they can be with their wounded loved ones.

Now in its 20th year, the golf tournament has become a signature industry event that allows the regional real estate community to raise funds for this worthy cause while having some fun. The full-day event featured a round of golf, BBQ lunch, putting/driving contests and a networking and awards reception. As part of its effort to enrich the Inland Empire, NAIOP Inland Empire participates in numerous charitable activities throughout the year.

Golf Tournament winners:

  • The four-member team to win the tournament with a score of 58 consisted of Steve Lantsberger with the City of Hesperia, Len Santoro of CBRE, Wes Jones of CBRE and Bobby Grich with Fidelity National Title.
