Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) laments the loss of automaker Toyota in his Capitol Comment for the week of April 28th, 2014.
Senator Huff says the relocation of the company to Texas not only means the loss of 3,000 good paying jobs, it further cements California's anti-business reputation. He points out that Toyota isn't the first to leave and probably won't be the last, citing the high cost of doing business in the Golden State.
California has the highest sales tax rate, personal income tax rate and highest gas taxes in the nation. Electrical costs are 44 percent higher than in other states. Senator Huff predicts the exodus of business and jobs won't stop until the State Legislature stops rejecting legislation to make California a business-friendly state again.
