Capitol Comment for the Week of March 3, 2014

Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) gives an update on Senate Constitutional Amendment (SCA) 5 in his Capitol Comment for the Week of March 3, 2014.

SCA 5, which seeks to reverse Proposition 209 and allow all public universities to openly discriminate against persons based on race, sex, color, ethnicity and national origin, is still in the State Assembly after passing out of the State Senate and can be brought to the Assembly Floor for a vote at any time. Protests against the measure have erupted on a number of university campuses and cities across California since the measure passed off the Senate Floor.

Senator Huff, who is leading the charge against SCA 5, says there is still time to prevent the measure from reaching the statewide ballot.
