Color Me Fatalistic, Sadly

With the general election only a couple of weeks away, Americans and millions of illegal immigrants will go to the polls to cast their ballots. Sadly, the choices, as usual, are not compelling.

Deep, down inside, I consider myself to be a realist; unlike the hundreds of morons that try-out for American Idol and just KNOW that they actually have a chance to become the Next American Idol, I know that I'm short, fat, bald, ugly, and can't sing.  I am not blindingly naive where I live in a constant state of delusion, where evidently most Americans reside.  Bottom line: I know what time it is, and for America, time is just about up.

With the general election only a couple of weeks away, Americans (most with an IQ barely above retarded) and millions of illegal immigrants will go to the polls to cast their ballots.  Sadly, the choices, as usual, are not compelling.  Our two choices for president are the incumbent with a dismal first term and an extremely wealthy businessman who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and who hasn’t got a clue what the average American has been going through the past twelve years to make ends meet.

There is a mountain of evidence supporting my fatalistic vision for this country.  After eight of the greatest years in the history of this country (1992 to 2000), America elected a Puppet President whose main goal was to enrich his and his running mate’s personal wealth.  We invaded Iraq under the guise that Saddam Hussein was building and hiding Weapons of Mass Destruction, which we later learned was a crock of you-know-what.  Whilst in Iraq, the on-going debacle of Afghanistan put us further in the red, via the blood of our soldiers (and my nephew, a hero Marine who was taken away on December 27, 2010) and several trillion more dollars in national debt.  We’ve lost thousands of U.S. soldiers and gotten ourselves trillions of dollars (more) in debt while Dubya and Cheney (via Halliburton and their other financial shenanigans) have gotten rich.  How do they sleep at night?

In addition, we have an immigration policy that encourages and rewards illegal immigration, all at the expense of the U.S. taxpayers.  How many billions, if not trillions of dollars, has our wide-open border policy cost this country in both direct and residual consequences?  An even more important question: how many terrorists have come into this country via the Mexican border?  Is our joke of a border a tightly-held secret that only Americans and Mexicans know about?  I seriously doubt it.  There may be hundreds, possibly even thousands, of terrorists waiting to hatch the next 9-11.

Then there’s that tiny little issue of our national debt, currently standing at $17,000,000,000,000 (that’s a lot of zeros!).  Our debt has increased approximately $6T since Obama took office.  Of course, he’s not entirely to blame; the senators and congress members that we re-elect year after year after year are the ones who actually run this country and make its rules.  What happens to America when our national debt is $25,000,000,000,000 and 50% of federal revenues go towards just making interest payments on that debt?  You don’t want to know.  And I feel sorry for anybody in this country younger than 60; it’s just a matter of time before our tax rates double.  A ten year-old today will probably have a 75% tax rate by the time they reach 40.  Can you imagine what their quality of life will be like then?  It won’t look anything like it is today.

There are other problems plaguing this country (oil company price-fixing and/or collusion, impending terrorist attacks, national/state/county/city bankruptcies, lack of leadership at any/every level, etc.) and I haven’t seen/heard one legitimate iota of an idea from a single politician in the past twelve years.  Our politicians all seem to be in office for the sake of benefitting their own personal wealth.  Just take a look at our ridiculous tax code or our joke-of-the-world judicial system.  America was once a great country, just like Italy, Greece, Spain, and England used to be.  We aren’t just standing at the edge of the abyss, looking down at the vortex of calamity and tragedy.  Since 2000, America has taken a swan dive straight down into the center of the abyss, spinning out of control, blindly and ignorantly flailing its arms and legs with no idea how to get out of the mess it’s gotten itself into.  The only idea coming out of Washington D.C. is to borrow trillions more from China, continue to let any/all illegal immigrants come into this country (even terrorists), and to provide huge tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires while taxing the hell out of the middle class.  How long can this stupidity continue?  At least another four years.

I love to be right and I hate to be wrong.  Sadly, I see now evidence that my fatalistic view for this county has any other way to end.  I hope I’m wrong.  But I think I’m right, unfortunately.  God bless America.  She was once a great country.  She ain’t anymore.  And she won’t ever recover until somebody with intellect, common sense, and integrity takes the reins from the idiots currently running the show.  Who might that somebody be?  It could be me!  But sadly, I’m short, fat, bald, ugly, and not worth millions and millions of dollars.  However, I am intelligent, I have a load of common sense, and not many people on the planet possess my degree of integrity.  In other words: I haven’t got a snow ball’s chance in hell of running this country.  Of course, I could always try-out for American Idol.
