Annual Gala is Equal Parts Fun and Charitable

This year's theme for the Diamond Bar Community Foundation's event is Mardi Gras

Grab your masks and get ready for some fun; it’s time for Mardi Gras.

The Diamond Bar Community Foundation is hosting its annual Holiday Gala on Saturday, November 12. This year’s theme of Mardi Gras was chosen because “it’s fun and festive,” said Jody Roberto, president and chair of the Diamond Bar Community Foundation.

Since 2004, the gala has been held to raise funds for several community activities and programs.

“DBCF’s mission statement is to ‘preserve, protect and enhance the quality of life in the city of Diamond Bar by establishing programs and facilities to address the cultural, recreational and social needs of the communities,’” Roberto said. “We are accomplishing this goal by creating student scholarships, donating sports equipment, sponsoring a night at Concerts in the Park, and contributing towards DB4Youth.”

The gala will be filled with food, entertainment and dancing. Tina Javid from the Southern California Gas Company will also be honored with the Foundations Community Partner Award for her contributions to the Diamond Bar community.

“The Holiday Gala is a night to dress up and go out on the town right here in Diamond Bar,” Roberto said. “Gala guests will arrive to beautiful music played by Diamond Bar High School’s award winning orchestra. An elegant evening of delicious food will be provided by Parties by Panache. After dinner and a short program, attendees can dance the night away at the Diamond Bar Center.”

Organizers plan for the event all year, and “Our goal is to make it bigger and better every year,” Roberto said.

The event is open to all members of the community, whether they are involved with the DBCF or not.

“Everyone is invited,” Roberto said. “Anyone looking for a reason to dress up and enjoy a nice evening out in Diamond Bar while contributing to a good cause should attend.

The Diamond Bar Community Foundation is seeking corporate and individual sponsors to host tables for the event. Tickets are $100 each, $175 per couple, or $1,000 for a table of 10. The DBCF is offering a discount for non-profit organizations in Diamond Bar of $500 per table. To donate silent auction items, contact Alison Myers at 909-839-7024.
