Diamond Bar Streets Get Facelift

The city of Diamond Bar’s annual road maintenance project is underway.

Several miles of residential and arterial streets are being resurfaced and repaired. The area being treated is bounded by State Route 67/60 to the north, Grand Avenue and Diamond Bar Boulevard to the south, and the Quail Summit Elementary School neighborhood, according to the city’s website.

Arterial roads getting a facelift include Golden Springs Drive between Lavender Drive and Brea Canyon Road and Diamond Bar Boulevard between Brea Canyon Road and Brea Canyon Cutoff. Construction started in lat July and is expected to continue through the end of August, city officials said. The work will be done from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Depending on how extensive the repairs, some streets may need to be closed for several hours but will be reopened by 5 p.m. the same day, officials said.

“The type of repair a roadway receives depends on the severity of its wear-and- tear, and will involve a treatment of, or combination of, asphalt patchwork, crack sealing, asphalt grind and overlay, and slurry and chip seal application,” city officials wrote in the newsletter.

Residents with questions about road maintenance projects may call the Public Works Department at 909-839-7040.
