Diamonds Love Foundation Holding Community Health Fair

The event will take place Saturday in Pomona.

Boxer Sugar Shane Mosley’s Diamonds Love Foundation is teaming up with Western University of Health and Sciences to hold the fourth annual Free Pomona Community Health Fair.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at New Direction Community Church, 1100 E. Holt Ave., Pomona. 

Faculty and students from Western University will be on hand to provide free health screenings, vision screenings, structural exams and treatment, dental screenings, foot exams, strength testings, diabetes/blood sugar screenings, body mass index calculations, nutrition and exercise information, and even pet information.

“Fair participants will want to arrive early,” said Amos Young Sr., the event’s chairman and organizer. “The doors will open and the screenings will begin, and peoples lives could be saved. They may not have ever known they had high blood pressure or diabetes if they wouldn’t have attended.”

Prescription interaction advice will also be available, and anyone interested in taking advantage of this service are asked to bring any medications, vitamins, and herbal remedies they use.
