With the weekend right around the corner, here’s a guide to some events you might want to check out.
1. UNSOLVED MYSTERIES OF POMONA VALLEY
Where/When: 625 S. Garey Ave., Pomona. Saturday, Nov. 5, 1 - 3 p.m.

Why go: Mysteries abound in the area, and Bob Smith, author of Redefining the Inland Valley, will help tour participants uncover them. Guests will learn about everything from the murder of John Rains of Rancho Cucamonga and bank robberies in Ontario.

2. SWING INTO THE 1930s PARTY
Where/When: Diamond Bar Public Library, 1061 Grand Ave., Diamond Bar. Saturday, November 5, 2 p.m.
Why go: Take a trip back to a time when Snow White was new on the big screen and Shirley Temple was still a cute, curly-haired little girl. The library will be hopping with games, art activities, prizes that were popular in the 1930s, and more. Attendance is first come, first served, and the event is targeted for ages 2 to 11.

3. STAR TALES
Where/When: Mt. San Antonio College, 1100 N. Grand Ave., Walnut. Friday, November 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5, 7 and 8:30 p.m (two shows).
Why go: This planetarium show gives visitors a tour of the solar system in just 50 minutes. It is recommended for ages six and up.
Pricing: $6 adults, $4 seniors over the age of 55, children under 13, and students with valid ID
4. FIRST FRIDAY CLAREMONT ART WALK
Where/When: North Indian Hill Boulevard and West 1st Street, Claremont. Friday, November 4, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Why go: The Claremont Village turns into an entertainment zone, with art galleries opening their doors to show off their latest pieces, and live music and activities for kids.
