In case you missed it, here’s a look at some of the top stories from the past week.

The trial date for Kyle Jacobs, a 26-year-old Diamond Bar man accused of killing his former roommate was in a preliminary hearing Thursday at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Pomona.

With tax season on the horizon, local officials and community groups began an annual effort today to that can generate hefty refunds for low- and moderate-income families with children.

A preliminary hearing and bail review for a man suspected of robbing a Walnut Bank of America . Jaimes Lawler, 27, of Diamond Bar will appear in court Feb. 15 on the felony armed robbery charge.

California State Assembly Democrats that would slash CSU and UC tuition by about two-thirds for middle class families, but Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar), who represents Walnut and Diamond Bar in the 29th district, isn’t buying it.
