Knabe Reminds Commuters of Weekend I-405 Closure

The I-405 freeway will be closed for two days, on July 15-17, between the 101 and 10 freeways and Supervisor Don Knabe is reminding drivers to make alternate commute plans for those days.

Drivers are calling the 53-hour closure of a portion of the I-405 freeway west of Los Angeles, "carmaggedon," but county officials are working to get the word out to drivers to make alternate plans.

The road closure will take place between the I-10 and U.S. 101 freeways on the I-405 over this weekend, July 15-17, with the freeway re-opening Monday morning at 5 a.m. Work will begin Friday night at 10 p.m.

The closure is a result of demolition on the Mulholland Bridge.
