[VIDEO] Growing Home Shows How to Start Sustainable Garden

The Growing Home and Learning Center offers tips on how to get started toward more sustainable gardening practices with composting and a drip irrigation system.

The Growing Home and Learning Center — a backyard farm started in Diamond Bar — opened in late June and is working to offer classes to the public on sustainable living.

Currently, the summer workshop schedule at the Growing Home has been postponed, but check back at their website for updates on a new summer schedule.

i had a compost bin, but it gathered so many large "waterbugs" cockroaches, 10s of 1000s of them that i just got rid of it...

Hey James, Try using a vermicompost bin instead. The worms eat all the food and keep the smell and other bugs out. We'll have a class about making one soon. Keep a look out for it or get on our newsletter: http://thegrowinghome.net/newsletter/ Rishi
