Wednesday is Deadline for ZIP Code Survey
The USPS sent out surveys in October, asking residents in the 91789 ZIP code if they want to join the rest of Diamond Bar in 91765.
Tomorrow is the deadline for residents of the 91789 ZIP code to complete and return the survey they received in the mail in October, asking if they want to remain in their current ZIP code or join 91765.
The surveys will be tallied by the USPS in late December, and if the change is approved, it will go into effect July 1, 2012.
Currently, 85 percent of Diamond Bar households and businesses are under the 91765 ZIP code. 91789 is shared with the city of Walnut.

“I think that while some have come to terms with living in Diamond Bar but having the Walnut ZIP Code and simply worked around it say by asking friends to address their mail with ‘Walnut, CA 91789’ to ensure prompt delivery, others hoped this day would soon come,” said Cecilia Arellano, public information coordinator for the city, in a previous interview with Patch.
