Week in Review

An arraignment is postponed, kids honor 9/11, and the Diamond Bar High football team wins big

In case you missed it, here’s a look at what happened in and around Diamond Bar this week.

On Friday night, the Diamond Bar High School Brahmas , defeating Wilson High School from Hacienda Heights 40 - 13. The team was led by seniors Henry Omana and George Katrib.

Also on Friday, Collegewood Elementary and South Pointe Middle School held , featuring songs and special guests, including Walnut firefighters.

On Wednesday, there was yet another setback in the . Eva Perez was transferred to a different prison instead of being brought to the Pomona Superior Court, and the hearing has been moved to October 3. In August, the wrong Eva Perez was brought to court, moving the date to September 7.

Diamond Bar High School junior Atharshna Singarajah received an honor that only 20 other people received worldwide: the . Singarajah earned it for her hard work through the Leo Club.

Another Diamond Bar High School student was in the spotlight this week: Calvin Vargas was to sing with the Beach Boys and special guest John Stamos at the L.A. County Fair.
