'Dollar Bills' Boys Soccer Team in Diamond Bar Wears Pink Socks for the Cure

The following news release is courtesy of the Dollar Bills soccer team in Diamond Bar.

A U-12 boys soccer team from Diamond Bar known as the “Dollar Bills” will wear pink socks during their October games to help raise money during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Dollar Bills' Coach Peter Gonzales Lee said “this is a wonderful initiative which I fully support personally, however, all the boys had to agree to it as we would not be able to play with different colored socks.”

So Coach Gonzalez Lee was delighted when the entire team chose to wear the pink socks for their October 12 game which they won 4-1 on goals from Francis Gonzalez (1), Thomas Avila (2) and Max Garcia (1).  The pink socks proved to be a good luck charm as the team won again this weekend 2-1 on goals from Sean Rivera and Thomas Avila.

The Dollar Bills plan to continue wearing pink socks for their remaining game in October and hope that other AYSO teams from Diamond Bar and throughout Southern California will join them in helping to raise money and awareness to fight this terrible disease.
