Well, taekwondo isn’t just for kids anymore, as I can personally attest to it, as I recently gone back into it after taking a long hiatus (15 years to be exact because of a bum knee and cash flow issues I had to stop).

As summer is coming to a close, we as adults need some sort of activity to help us burn off those calories which we gain during 4th of July and other holidays.  Why not give Taekwondo a try.

Grandmaster Young In Cheon opened YIC Taekwondo 21 years ago as the US Taekwondo Center and has over 50 years’ experience in Taekwondo.  Cheon’s son Alan leads a competent group of instructors which includes Kevin Chao and Jason Han.  Both Chao and Han are also very good with children.

Anyone who is interested in trying out the national sport of Korea is free to do so as Diamond Bar’s own YIC Taekwondo Center is offering  summer special where adults can try out for two weeks free to see  what all the buzz is about, and  includes a free uniform.

The adult class is a diverse group of individuals, or varying skill levels from post teens to 40 something’s (such as myself) to more mature individuals as well, many of whom have children also taking taekwondo.

Terry Ahn has a daughter who is a black belt and is a junior-black belt herself.  While she is scheduled to test for her black belt in November Anh said that “having two black belts in the family is very expensive.”

YIC Taekwondo Center is located at 21335 Cold Spring Lane inside the Smart H market shopping center.
