Guns, ammo, gold, $5k in small bills locked in a hidden safe in your house. In a disaster, the building that holds the company you work for may be destroyed so you need 6 mos of living expense cash also in your safe. This is likely around $50k. Do not put in a safety deposit box as the bank may be locked tight. Generators are great, but have plenty of gasoline ahead of time. Gas stations will be without power and will have long lines. Use your guns to protect your generator. In a crisis, they are the first stolen by your neighbors.
