Halloween is Closing in!

When I was growing up in Rowland Heights, I LOVED Halloween!  The opportunity to dress up and 'be' anyone or anything I liked was magical.  Being a somewhat eccentric child, I really would have enjoyed doing this everyday. My mother indulged me with a costume box in the attic my dad converted to a room.  My sisters and I filled that room with creativity through sewing Barbie clothes, playing dress up, flopping with a good book, etc...  I have always felt the most Me in Fall and Winter.  I remember my dad even built a ladder up to a dormer window that faced the mountains.  If we had rain, I was always excited to see if there was snow in the distance.

When I became a mom, I brought out my big costume box for my daughter, we added TONS of things to it and she too loved playing dress up.  It was so much fun to watch her friends file into the house, as my friends did, to see what we could come up with for Halloween costumes.

I have found, it doesn't matter how old you are, as long as you never stop playing!  So dress up... Be a character, be silly, have fun for the sake of FUN!

Even if you're staying home for Halloween, put on a goofy get up for the Trick-or-Treaters and enjoy giving candy out to the kids in costume!
