A little more than fifty years has past since Martin Luther King, Jr. made the famous "I Have a Dream Speech" during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

In remembrance of King’s fight against racial inequality, we took a look at the numbers of how much the country has progressed and also how much work may still need to be done.

Take a look above to see what we found.

While King fought for equality of all races, this data visual will primarily look at the progress among African Americans.

How much progress do you think we've made towards racial equality? Tell us in the comments or in a blog post.

Wrong again, we are talking about right now, you are in denial, your past shapes your future.

R Hall, I dislike your racist comments towards white people. White people did not steal anything- they built empires for good. I understand your envy and jealousy of white European ancestry- they invented the printing press, the automobile, human flight and many other things. America, the greatest nation on earth, was founded by white Europeans. You can dislike white Europeans all you like, but don't deny how these people have shaped the world for centuries, it makes you look like a fool.

Another in denial mode, if you had the facts, and not your distorted opinions you would know the truth. But I realize the true does hurt. Your whole history is a prevarication, to be more precise, one would call Europeans in America identity theft. Do you ever wonder why everything you invented was in America, next to a hundred Black workers, and not in Europe. Looks like you had a real need for Black help. 200 million thrown in the Gulf of Mexico, another 2 billion you killed who fought, or refused to accept slavery. Another lie, George Washington was the first president. Google John Hanson, a Black man was the first president of America, 7 years before George made us a slave. Which means Obama is the first gay president, the only European invention. You need to kiss every Black person's feet, are you would still be in your cave, making love with your favorite bear, are your favorite brother. Also reverse psychology is not a valid defense for your dastardly deeds, and for the record, nobody said white people but you. Which also means you know that it is true........have a good day sir.
