Funeral Services Set for Diamond Bar Resident Cristopher Guerrero

Guerrero, 36, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Sunday on West Temple Avenue near Cal Poly Pomona.

Services for Cristopher Guerrero, who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Sunday near Cal Poly Pomona, have been set.

The funeral for the 36-year-old Diamond Bar man will be held Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. in Church of Our Heritage at Forest Lawn Covina Hills, 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina.

Guerrero was walking westbound in the right lane of West Temple Avenue and Campus Drive around 5:15 a.m. when he was struck by a Chevy truck or SUV also going westbound, City News Service reported. The driver of that truck or SUV has not been found.

Cris' dad Ed Guerrero shared some thoughts about his son, who was born in Hacienda Heights.

"We lost a great man on Sunday Oct. 27, my son Cristopher Edward Guerrero," he said. "He will be severely missed by all that knew and loved him...wife Janeth...family...friends.  He was only 36 years...he always called me his hero, but the fact is he was my hero and best friend and I can never repay him for all the love that he gave to me and others, his spirit will live forever in all of us."

Investigators continue to gather evidence in the case. Anyone who has any information is asked to call the California Highway Patrol at 626-338-1164
