Services for Cristopher Guerrero, who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Sunday near Cal Poly Pomona, have been set.

The funeral for the 36-year-old Diamond Bar man will be held Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. in Church of Our Heritage at Forest Lawn Covina Hills, 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina.

Guerrero was walking westbound in the right lane of West Temple Avenue and Campus Drive around 5:15 a.m. when he was struck by a Chevy truck or SUV also going westbound, City News Service reported. The driver of that truck or SUV has not been found.

Cris' dad Ed Guerrero shared some thoughts about his son, who was born in Hacienda Heights.

"We lost a great man on Sunday Oct. 27, my son Cristopher Edward Guerrero," he said. "He will be severely missed by all that knew and loved him...wife Janeth...family...friends.  He was only 36 years...he always called me his hero, but the fact is he was my hero and best friend and I can never repay him for all the love that he gave to me and others, his spirit will live forever in all of us."

Investigators continue to gather evidence in the case. Anyone who has any information is asked to call the California Highway Patrol at 626-338-1164

We are speechless and in denial. This is not supposed to happen to someone like Cris. The family has our heartfelt sympathy. ED I know you are empty inside, this is a wound that will never ever heal. We had the pleasure of knowing Cris and his wonderful father and we were blessed to be with them so very much, especially during cris's tender years in 1987 when Cris was a young endearing child. When he grew up He became such a gentle man and I have never been hugged the way he would always hug me when we would all meet up for a function. I have to believe he is with his mother and grandma and that someday we will meet again. Ed, know that we will be here for you. We wish you strength dear friend and God knows you will need it after this tragedy. I pray that KARMA acts fast and that this spineless COWARD pays the ultimate price . RIP dearest Cris with our love.....George and Ann
