Election of Board Members

I would like to start a dialogue/conversation on the upcoming election for the candidates that are running for WVUSD board members.  I'm not sure who has the heart to make the students and the quality of education of this district a priority.  Can anyone please provide any insights of these particular individual to get residents informed?  The candidates are Helen Hall, Y. Tony Torng, S. Sean Monemi, and Cindy Ruiz.  I care about the students here and it doesn't seem like these candidates were ever once in a classroom.  Your input is much appreciated.  Thank You!

I have had pleasant experience with Cindy Ruiz, who is very responsive to my emails and concerns. I have had opposite experience with Helen Hall - never return any calls for help. Overall, we need new people in WVUSD, IMHO.

Sorry, let me take it back. The only responsive person on the board was Nancy Lyons, not Cindy Ruiz. Unfortunately, Nancy is not for re-election this time. To make changes to our district to the better I suggest we look at the new faces, Tony Torng or Sean Monemi! Maybe they can reduce inflow of students from the other side of Nogales and find a proper superintendent!

Thanks Concerned Parent. I'll keep that in mind. It's strange how certain people posts things that bad mouth the board members and asking residents to go out and vote and as of now, they are not responding. Maybe it is because they haven't seen this yet??????

I will be voting for Cindy Ruiz and Sean Monemi because I feel they will represent the needs of schools in Walnut. I hope Walnut residents will exercise their voting rights in November and support these candidates. We need Board members who will be fair and objective in assessing the needs of schools in both Diamond Bar and Walnut and making decisions accordingly.

All the people running are big government hacks in it for the free iPads, NONE of them will represent the kids or taxpayers, so no need to vote this time (if you want change). NONE of these candidates will fight the DOC or stop bond measures that will raise your taxes. Cindy Ruiz & Nancy Lyons managed the District to near BANKRUPTCY, having to file a Negative Certification with the State. Monemi is endorsed by the AFL-CIO UNION- good luck with that, taxpayers. Tony Torng wants to seek "new funding sources," let me translate that for you, your property taxes are going up again. Walnut parents will continue to subsidize the education of Rowland kids, and have THEIR own children taking classes in trailers. Nothing will change with this crew.
