I'm all for it! It will be a great asset for the community.

How is this going to be paid for? No builders to extort. Could have extorted Roski but city blew that by suing him. Going to sell bond so that this facility will be paid for 100 times over? We should only build this if we save up the general funds and pay cash for it.

If there's the will, we'll find a way to pay for it. I'm sure there are imaginative, forward thinking, as well as generous residents in Walnut who can make this happen. Be positive! Let's build an aquatic center. Other cities have - Cerritos, Mission Viejo, Lakewood, Bellflower, to name a few.

True Vito, how is it going to be paid for and more importantly how much will it cost. IF they can build it without government funds and control then by all means start digging. Even as a swimmer I do not see the aquatic center as a need but more of a luxury. There is ample access to great pools at the local gyms and at Mt. Sac. Also Walnut should not even be compared to cities such a Bellflower... I think what Walnut needs is a Sumo Ring. :)

The suggestion that Walnut needs an aquatic center as much as it needs a sumo ring (or a hole in our heads!) is far fetched. I think that with thoughtful study and analysis, the city can determine if it would be feasible to build an aquatic center. Or, we can look to our school district to build an $11 million aquatic center at Walnut High School as they did for Diamond Bar High. The city of Diamond Bar and its residents got an aquatic center at no cost . That was a sweetheart deal!

Walnut could have had a pool if they played Roski right. There is NO WAY that Walnut is going to influence what the COI does. The stupid Walnut city council did not realize that. They should have milked concessions from Roski when they could. The only concessions they got was to pay for the lawyer that lost the case for Walnut. Pretty Pitiful. Anyone still on the board from that time should be recalled. Never saw such incompetence.

Vito, is it the same council that gave away millions for religious discrimination. Planning to build my Sumo Ring/Mosque in Walnut but am short of funds.

We could've used the millions spent on the super WHS stadium, where our football team keeps losing. We can also increase our fast growing taxes even more to pay for the center, so the city will be in line with Mr.Jerry Brown and Mr.Obama.

... year-round swimming? Indoor? I do not see a roof on the sketch.
