The California Highway Patrol announced Wednesday that it will coordinate with seven other state agencies to have a larger presence along the 10 Freeway over the Labor Day Weekend to "educate, and if necessary, cite drivers who violate traffic laws."
The extra officers will be stationed all the way from Santa Monica out towards the Arizona border, according to the press release sent out by the CHP.
The purpose of the campaign is to reduce the number of collisions and fatalities nationwide, according to the release.
