Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies had three men in custody Thursday, following a botched burglary attempt, it was reported.
The men were caught when deputies stopped their alleged getaway vehicle following the burglary, reported at 12:33 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of Hunters Hill Drive, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported.
According to authorities, the suspects knocked on the front door of a home and -- apparently thinking no one was home -- went to the rear to open the back door.
A resident was home and spooked the would-be burglars, according to officials
West Covina residents Juan Trujillo and Jonathan Cortez, and La Puente resident Jose Sanchez -- all of them 21 -- were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and booked into the Walnut/Diamond Bar station jail, pending a Tuesday court date in Pomona, SGVTribune.com reported.
