Updated: Bicyclist Struck and Killed in Industry Identified

The Los Angeles County coroner's office today identified a La Puente man as the cyclist run over and killed by a truck in Industry Saturday.

Jose Munoz, 55, died when a truck hit him while he was riding his bike on the wrong side of the road, City News Service reported.

Kelli Blanchard, a coroner's investigator, told the news service that an autopsy is pending.

A bicyclist riding on the wrong side of the street was struck and killed by a truck in Industry Saturday.

The unidentified man was riding east in a westbound lane at 3:05 p.m. when a truck pulling out of the Alta Dena Dairy in the 17600 block of Valley Boulevard struck him and ran him over, sheriff's Sgt. Ernie Barbosa told City News.

The name of the victim, who died at the scene, was not released. The truck driver remained at the scene to talk to investigators. He was not cited or arrested, City News reported.
