The Courthouse is at 400 Civic Center Plaza Pomona. Officials were still at the scene as of 3:15 p.m. and few details were avilable, according to the wire service.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Peter Gomez reportedly told CNS no evacuations were ordered. The incident was prompted after a suspicious device was left in front of the building, according to the City News report. A sheriff's bomb squad was dispatched.

The incident follows on the heels of a two bomb threats called into officials at Cal State Los Angeles. The calls forced the cancelation of afternoon classes and the evacuation of the campus.

El Monte police Lt. Dan Burlingham said the first call came in about 10:45 a.m. from a pay phone at 11216 Garvey Ave., and the other came from the 4000 block of Peck Road at 11:37 a.m.

Burlingham said he had no additional information about the calls, but according to reports from the scene, the caller indicated that bomb would go off in two hours.

The threats were not specific to an exact location at the school, which is in the 5100 block of State University Drive, Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The decision to cancel classes and evacuate the campus was made by university officials and was not ordered by the LAPD, French said.

A bomb squad was sent to the scene, and a search of the campus was underway, French said.
