UPDATED: Brush Fire Reported in Diamond Bar

Grass fire creeping uphill, cause remains unknown at this time.

UPDATED, 7:11 p.m.: The minor brush fire reportedly started in a dumpster, according to Sergeant Erick Kim of the . The cause is still unknown at this time.

UPDATE, 7 p.m.: Fire fighters have the minor brush fire 100 percent contained, according to scanner reports. Crews reportedly will remain on scene to assess a possible cause. The size of the fire is reported at around one and a half acres.

PREVIOUSLY: A small brush fire is burning in the hills above Diamond Bar.

The fire was reported some time around 6:20 p.m. behind the 2000 block of Shannon Court. and is burning in medium brush. The fire is 75 percent contained.

Officials are giving a preliminary estimate to the size of the fire as an acre to an acre and a half and might threaten structures, according to scanner reports. The fire is being pushed by southerly winds. A helicopter is reportedly being summoned to help with the incident, according to scanner reports.
