Cal Poly Pomona: Victim Robbed Near Campus

Police are investigating a strong arm robbery that happened near, though not on, the campus, Cal Poly officials said Tuesday.

The following advisory was issued by Cal Poly Pomona through their Facebook page on Tuesday:

Pomona Police are investigating a strong-arm robbery that occurred (Tuesday) afternoon on Valley Boulevard near Kellogg Drive. The crime did not occur on campus.

The victim, who had just exited a bus, said his attacker approached from behind, struck him on the head, and took his wallet and cell phone before fleeing.

Members of the campus community are urged to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings. Report suspicious-looking persons or activity to University Police immediately by calling (909) 869-3070.
