A car going the wrong way on an Arcadia street collided with another vehicle, injuring three people, one critically, police said today.
The head-on crash happened around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday in the westbound lanes of West Huntington Drive just east of Civic Center Place, said Arcadia police Lt. Mike Castro.
Firefighters took about 45 minutes to cut a woman from the wreckage of the gray Toyota she was driving, a news photographer reported from the scene.
The woman, who is from Diamond Bar, was taken to a hospital and was in critical condition, Castro said. A woman from Alameda who had been traveling with her was hospitalized in serious condition, he said.
A man from San Bernardino, who was the only occupant of a white BMW that collided with the Toyota, was also taken to a hospital in serious condition, Castro said.
The Arcadia Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team was investigating the crash, he said. Which vehicle was heading the wrong way was not immediately reported.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision was urged to call Arcadia police at (626) 574-5150.
