POMONA (CNS) - A 23-year-old driver thrown from a vehicle in a single-car wreck in Pomona was hospitalized today with what California Highway Patrol officers called major injuries.

Leo Lianos of Pomona was headed east on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in the No. 3 lane when he lost control of the vehicle near Kellog Drive about 1 a.m., according to the CHP.

The car went off the road and hit a block wall, throwing Lianos out, according to the CHP, which said he was airlifted to County-USC Medical Center.

Proof (once again) that stupid people shouldn't text, eat, drink, and/or do drugs while driving and SHOULD wear a seatbelt if they're going to be doing a bunch of stupid things while they're driving. Hard lesson learned, poor kid.

Don't assume anything. He may have just fallen asleep while driving.

My children had an accident where one fell asleep at the wheel. We are blessed that they both survived. It was a miracle.
