Sheriff's deputies staffing a DUI and license checkpoint in Industry Friday netted seven suspected drunken, drug-addled and scofflaw motorists, authorities said.
Friday’s checkpoint was on Valley Blvd at 6th St., in Industry, officials said.
The goal of the DUI/DL checkpoints is to remove impaired drivers from the road and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Of 1,841 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint, 1,224 vehicles were screened, officials said.
Two suspects under the influence of marijuana were arrested; two suspected drug addicts driving vehicles were arrested and one person under the influence of both drugs and alcohol was collared, officials said.
Two unlicensed drivers were ticketed and ordered to court and four vehicles were impounded for one day.
