Elderly Man, Wife, and Maid Held Captive During Hacienda Heights Home Invasion

A similar home invasion also took place in Diamond Bar Friday night.

A man in his 90s, his wife, and a housemaid were held captive while their Hacienda Heights home was robbed, authorities said today.

The trio, all of Chinese origin, were held by one of two men, who repeatedly shone a flashlight in their eyes while his partner ransacked the house in the 15,000 block of Facilidad Street, said Sgt. Nabeel Mitry of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Industry station. Around $2,000 in cash and jewelry was taken, Mitry said.

Mitry said two men in hooded sweatshirts entered the home about 9:45 p.m. Monday through a bathroom window, holding the 95-year-old bedridden man and the 50-year-old housemaid in the downstairs bedroom of the two-story house.

Mitry said the man's 87-year-old wife was ordered down from the upper level of the house, and the three were held together by one of the men for about 45 minutes.

Mitry said the three were not physically threatened but ordered by their captors to remain silent.
