The torso of woman's body found at county water treatment plant in Industry today apparently matches a foot, calf, and other remains found in a water treatment plant in Carson on Saturday.
Coroner's investigators have yet to identify the woman, who was described only as possibly Hispanic.
The torso was reported in a county-run San Jose Creek Water Reclamation plant in the 1900 block of Workman Mill Road about 9:25 a.m. today, according to deputies with the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
The foot and calf were found Saturday about 8 a.m. in a separation pond at the county's Joint Water Pollution Control Plant in the 24500 block of South Figueroa Street.
The water treatment plants are connected by sewage lines as big as 12 feet across. The remains will be turned over to coroner's investigators, who will try to identify the woman and determine how she died. Anyone with more information was asked to call sheriff's detectives at (323) 890-5500.
