Jacobs Enters Not Guilty Plea on Murder Charges

Kyle Jacobs, 26, pleaded not guilty to charges of murder Monday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 11 at the Pomona Courthouse.

Kyle Jacobs, 26, pleaded not guilty Monday morning to charges of murder and unlawful use of a gun, according to Superior Court Judge Mike Camacho.

The charges facing Jacobs are in connection with a shooting Thursday in the 1100 block of N. Del Sol Lane that resulted in the death of 39-year-old Ryan Modica, who was a former roommate of Jacobs at that residence.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for April 21 at 8:30 a.m. at the Pomona Courthouse.

Correction: a previous version of this story incorrectly stated the name of the victim Ryan Modica. Patch regrets the error, which was corrected at 9 p.m. on April 11.
